A new trailer for Netflix’s genre-mashup Bright has dropped, check it out down below and let us know what you think in the comments!
The film, directed by David Ayer (Fury, Suicide Squad), is a crime-drama set within a fantastical world that sees humans, orcs, fairies and other beings coexisting. It certainly looks promising, with Ayer’s nitty-gritty trademark touch and just enough flamboyant splash to classify it as an extremely interesting concept to say the least. I for one want to see it succeed with both critics and the general audience, because the world needs to be reintroduced to the directorial talent that is David Ayer; after the universal panning of DC’s live-action Suicide Squad, the comic-book entry into Ayer’s filmography no doubt left a bad taste in his mouth — it certainly did with fans. I’m a firm believer that the project was rushed into development, as reported by close sources of the film, and Ayer wasn’t granted enough time or freedom to truly deliver a creative piece of superhero-esque entertainment.
Here’s to hoping Bright re-establishes both his reputation and resume.
Bright is available to stream on Netflix on December 22.
