‘Roswell’ Reboot Is Coming

According to ComingSoon.net, the sci-fi/drama that previously aired for its first two seasons on the WB between 1999 and 2001, with a third (and final) season airing on UPN, will be making a return for  an entire new reboot on The CW.

The short-lived series, based on the “Roswell High” book series by Melinda Metz, will be executive-produced by Carina Adly MacKenzie (The Originals). Among those who will also share an executive producer credit on the reboot is Kevin Kelly Brown, who was also the executive producer on the original series.

The synopsis goes like this:

After reluctantly returning to her tourist-trap hometown of Roswell, New Mexico, the daughter of undocumented immigrants discovers a shocking truth about her teenage crush who is now a police officer: he’s an alien who has kept his unearthly abilities hidden his entire life. She protects his secret as the two reconnect and begin to investigate his origins, but when a violent attack and long-standing government cover-up point to a greater alien presence on Earth, the politics of fear and hatred threaten to expose him and destroy their deepening romance.

It’s odd, but it’s as if — millions of voices suddenly cried out in jubilation, and will never be silenced until the first episode premieres…
