Stephen King’s ‘The Talisman’ Movie Taps Josh Boone To Write

Fault in our Stars, and the upcoming comic-book adaptation The New Mutants director Josh Boone gets tapped to direct the 1984 Stephen King/Peter Straub novel about a twelve-year-old boy named Jack Sawyer, who sets out on a perilous journey to locate a mystical crystal called “the Talisman” in order to save his dying mother from a crippling form of cancer.

The adaptation hails from Amblin Entertainment, and had formerly been set to become a TV series. Boone had previously been tapped to write both big screen adaptations for King’s The Stand and Revival.
